Frequently asked questions about the Mélopie piano method

Can my child learn piano at home, without a teacher?

Yes. The Mélopie method is designed for parents to guide their child at home, even with no musical background: the video lessons take your child through each step.

What does a lesson at home look like?

Your child watches a short video lesson, plays games with the Musitunes, then puts it all into practice with a famous tune, simplified. You simply stay alongside: just a few minutes a day is enough.

Do I need to read music?

No. Your child first follows the Musitunes’ colour code, then their memory stories help them quickly let go of the colours and read real sheet music.

How much does the subscription cost?

The Piano subscription gives online access to the whole programme: video lessons, sheet music and games. It costs €4.99 per month with a 12-month commitment, or €12.99 per month with no commitment.

Can we try it for free?

Yes. Lesson 1 of the piano method is free: just enter your email address to get instant access.

How are the lessons organised?

The lessons follow on from one another, each one building on the last. We recommend one lesson a week, with time for revision.

What kind of piano do we need at home?

A simple keyboard is enough to start, then a 61-key keyboard, an 88-key keyboard and finally a piano. What matters most is that the instrument is easy for your child to reach every day.

Can Mélopie be used alongside other music lessons?

Yes. Mélopie works well alongside music school lessons and other teaching approaches, such as Montessori.
